Te Hikuwai Ō Hokianga

PIRI - Emblem

The emblem of Pacific Inherent Relations International (PIRI) is based on Te Mākaurangi — the thumbprint — a universal mark carried by every person. It represents individuality, responsibility, and the unique role each person holds within the wider human experience and planetary system. The thumbprint form at the centre reflects IO — the Mauri Supreme Creator — as the source of order, coherence, and inherent authority. From this source, interconnected dimensions unfold, expressing balance, continuity, and structure across the living world.

The double spiral symbolises knowledge and light in motion — learning gained through experience, reflection, and relationship — known as Mākaka Ō Te Rangi (the Cosmic Spiral). It speaks to movement between realms, the transmission of wisdom across generations, and the ongoing unfolding of understanding. The emblem reflects PIRI’s purpose: to connect people, community, place, and responsibility across land, ocean, and nations, while remaining grounded in clarity, accountability, and intergenerational stewardship rooted in inherent authority.
