Ngā Manukura are the spiritual guardians and protectors of sacred lineage, intention, balance, and relational responsibility across Aotearoa, Te Moana Nui a Kiwa, and beyond. They are the spiritual guardians of the Sacred Jawbone of IO Matua Te Korekore. Ngā Manukura stand as a living embodiment of ancestral authority, carrying forward the sacred responsibilities entrusted through the whakapapa of: Te Wakaminenga, and the signatories of He Wakapūtanga 1835. The role of Ngā Manukura is not symbolic. It is living, active, intentional, disciplined, and transformational.

Ngā Manukura work within both the physical and spiritual realms, carrying the responsibility to restore balance, project intention, uphold relational harmony, and help guide pathways of collective wellbeing where imbalance exists. Through disciplined practice, sacred ritual, ceremony, practical responsibility, and unwavering intention, Ngā Manukura transform tools of conflict into taonga — objects carrying purpose, humility, memory, discipline, and peace.

These taonga are used to project intention into the celestial realms of Ngā Rangitūhāhā — the bespaced heavens — where thought, prayer, ceremony, consciousness, and action converge. Each taonga remains connected to ancestral presence, honouring the legacy of those who stood in unity, responsibility, service, and inherent sovereignty before us.Through these living relationships, Ngā Manukura act as relational conduits between past, present, and future — helping ensure that intention remains grounded in:

Ngā Manukura are the keepers of sacred balance, the carriers of intention, the protectors of spiritual pathways, and the guardians of living Mauri IO relationships guiding humanity forward. Over the last six years, Ngā Manukura have successfully carried out 60 ceremonial rifle salutes throughout Aotearoa. These ceremonies have been conducted with deep discipline, sacred responsibility, practical safety, ceremonial precision, and respect for both handlers and the wider public.
