Pacific Inherent Relations International (PIRI) is an intergenerational, Pacific-centred, inherent-led, trans-oceanic, international and worldwide body grounded in ancestral foundations and engaged globally. We exist to uphold "Mana Tuku Iho" - Inherent Authority, strengthen relationships across sky, land and ocean, transmit ancestral knowledge, and carry responsibility for unity and spiritual guardianship in the Pacific and Aotearoa.
Anchored in "Mana Tūpuna" - ancestral law and expressed through living Ariki leadership, PIRI operates across generations, oceans, and nations. Our work is guided by whanaungatanga (relationship) rather than transaction, pā harakeke (continuity) rather than urgency, and kaitiakitanga (guardianship) rather than power. We stand at Taihoronukurangi, from the stars above to the ocean below and everything in between, where land (whenua) meets ocean (moana), where whakapapa (genealogy) meets Te Anga Mua (future), and where responsibility is held not only for the present, but for generations yet unborn. PIRI exists to restore and maintain Kōtahitanga (unity) between sky, land, ocean, people, and cosmos, beyond colonial borders and imposed systems, affirming Mana Tuku Iho - " inherent authority" as living, relational, and enduring.
